Plasma cutting is a method for cutting sheet metal and making parts and blanks from carbon, alloyed and stainless steels, copper, and aluminum alloys. The cutting speed of small and medium thicknesses is higher than the speed of oxy-fuel cutting, but it is lower than the speed of laser cutting. Thermal deformations are negligible, and the quality of the treated surfaces is good.
Plasma cutting is a thermal cutting method that uses a plasma arc (ionized gas). The formation of a plasma arc begins with the passage of gas (air, oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen) through a narrow, high-pressure nozzle. This stream of compressed gas is fed with an electric current, resulting in the formation of a plasma arc. When the plasma arc contacts the metal, the heat melts it. At the same time, pressurized gases blow away the molten metal.
Cutting can be done manually or by machine. Thanks to the CNC equipment of the plasma cutting machines, which works according to a preset program, it is possible to cut steel sheets with a straight or contour cut. Parts with a complex shape, good accuracy, optimal cutting, and low consumption rate are cut. Underwater plasma cutting reduces contamination, noise, and heat distortion.
Angel Stoilov – 96 JSC has a plasma cutting machine ESAB: with power supply of 600 A, nitrogen as a working gas, and CNC control.
Working range of the cut: ⌀6.0 to ⌀60.0 for black and stainless steels, as well as up to ⌀40.0 for aluminum.
Overall dimensions of the table: 2.5 × 6.0 m.
A specific feature of plasma cutting is that the plasma cuts underwater and at a slight vertical angle, up to 3 degrees. The holes that can be cut must be larger than the thickness of the sheet metal (for sheet metal with a thickness of 30 mm, the hole must be at least ⌀30 in diameter).
The cutting of each blank is related to specific conditions, features, and preparation, for which we have competent and highly qualified programmers and operators. Offering of blanks is carried out only by the employees in the sales department on Record Base!
The requirements for the geometrical dimensions of the product and quality tolerances are according to ISO 9013
